WOW! That's all I have to say about the Summer Academy Graphic Novel Project. "Wings of Freedom" is going down as an amazing addition to our HTHGNP library of awesome sauce. It looks as though the 2009-10 HTH Graphic Novel Project will be an evenb bigger event than previously imagined. After the amazingness of Comic-Con and the truly awesome sauce of the Summer Academy it is inevitable that the 09-10 GNP will rock the socks off of Chula Vista! Today is the 5th day in our comic making process. We could not post a news update on friday because of some technical issues, but as you can see now we are back up. On friday we got so much done, we finished all of the character design and we got about 5 panels penciled. Today we are finishin up the pencils and some students are starting to get trained by Drake, Avispa, and Swiss Army to Ink. Things are coming up nicely and it looks like we are going to finish.

Today is the third day of our process of making the new comic. We have been working really hard to get as much as we can done in the amount of time we have. We got our scrpit done yesterday, and now we are doing character designs. We only have three characters to design, but everyone is dedicated to making them the best. The pencilers are hard at work laying out the panels and the rest of the students are learning how to do lettering and digital coloring. Jewel and Ploop are teaching the kids typography, digital coloring, and how to scan pages in.
The whole class is really excited for our story. Everyone has realized the relevance of our topic and how it effects many of the kids in the county. That fact makes them even more dedicated to our project. We are hoping that we will be able to get this done on time and that our hard work will benefit those in need.
